What they said about the LPM...
The Gibson LPM was introduced last year as a great value Les Paul with all of the features we know and love out of the USA Les Paul range. This year it has got a new face and paint scheme as well as some cracking new features that really do take this guitar from a great budget guitar to a fantastic instrument in its own right.
With a mahogany body which has been weight relieved in what Gibson call a Traditional rout and topped with maple to not only make it pop a bit more visually but also to give that sound a bit more of a pop than you would find on a straight mahogany guitar. The Maple neck has been carved with a traditional rounded profile so you get a mid-sized neck that will fit nearly any sized hand though with a modern feel.
Loaded up with some hot sounding '61 Zebra pickups and you are ready to hit the stage with an incredibly cool looking and sounding guitar that doesn't break the bank. It is not just the '61 pickups that impress the new G-Force tuning system which takes the Mini-ETune up to the next level with great quality software that only expands how far it can go. With the G-Force system you can go from out of tune to E Standard (or any tuning you want) within seconds without ever having to touch a tuner.
For 2015 Gibson have looked at a few main themes and one of them is customisability. Make your instrument truly yours, with more to change than ever the LPM offers up more bang for the buck than ever before.
With the new Zero Fret Nut you have a few key changes to your guitar which means you can worry less and play more. With the Zero Fret Nut you can now change your string gauge without having to file your nut down or get your nut changed if you want to go to a thinner gauge of string. Because it isn't cut like a traditional nut you can go up and down in string gauge with no permanent change to the nut needed. The nut is also completely adjustable so now you not only have control of your action at the bridge but also and the nut and with the new 27% lower fret wire you can now get that more modern set up within minutes.
Although the Gibson LPM is in that limbo between modern and traditional Les Pauls across the range Gibson have introduced a couple of key features that make this guitar more comfortable for the modern guitarist. One of the things they have done for 2015 is increase the width of the necks to bridge the gap between a more modern feeling guitar and the traditional class and tone of a great quality Les Paul.
Gibson have had a look at what is important to you as a guitarist and one of the main points is reliability. So Gibson listened and now their 2015 line is more reliable than ever with thicker gauge cable for internal components to make sure that your guitar will not cut out or break down in the middle of that important gig or studio session.
