The new Godin Passion Custom is clearly one more suited to the Telecaster brigade - lets face it, Strats, Teles and Les Pauls are iconic and we love the look so Godin are providing instruments that appeal in design to these markets but building on that as a base to move things on for the modern player.
So is this guitar simply a telecaster clone? Of course not! In fact, nothing could be further from the truth - similarities really begin and end with the general styling of the instrument.
Passion guitars have multi chambered bodies to improve resonance giving the guitars a real natural chime played acoustically which translates into a beautiful tone when plugged in.
The Passion Custom enjoys the P rail pickup in the neck for P90, single coil or humbucker tonality and is combined with the HDR system giving you active and passive tones at the press of a button. Tonal diversity is at the heart of Godin guitars and this is of course no exception.
The Passion Custom uses Godins patented Tru Lock trem system so that the trem always sits exactly where you want it. Oh - yes - it has a trem!!! Very un tele like but I did say it has little really in common with a tele!!
Let me know if you would like to take one for a test drive!
