First a mention of my shopping experience. I turned up without prior warning on a Wednesday afternoon. If you can go to the shop to try some guitars out I would definitely encourage it. I was met with great enthusiasm by Richard (no.2) who was extremely helpful. He set me up with half a dozen acoustics to try out having to listened to what I was after and swapped them out intermittently for others he thought I should try. Richard (no.1) dipped in as well to say hello and make suggestions. They gave me time and space and it was fantastic. I can't wait to go back.
On to the guitar. I went in with no fixed idea on what guitar was right for me and tried most in the shop at every budget up to the price of this one. I had imagined I would get an Eastman or a Furch based on seeing reviews and videos. I tried them, they were really good, but this guitar is on another level. Sure, the finish is exquiste, the neck smooth as silk, but what sets it apart is the sound. The top resonants like no guitar I have played before giving a crystal clear but full bodied sound. I don't know if this is to do with the 13th fret design (I've never played one before) or just amazing workmanship but whatever it is it works a treat.
It is pricey, and more than I had intended to pay by some margin, but having picked this up, no other guitar could match it. I've had it a month now and still every time I open its case I am in awe. It is the only acoustic I will ever need. Or that's what I have told my wife.
