Unique voicing process
The premium nature of the Vintage 1 SM is underscored by the fact that the soundboard is individually tuned using the voicing process, which enhances the instrument’s tonal properties to the highest level. Thanks to that, the Vintage 1 SM has a crystalline clear, harmonically rich, balanced, and highly dynamic sound across the entire tonal spectrum.
Special hand-brushed finish
The instrument is protected by Full-Pore Vintage Hand-Brushed Finish, a special finish that provides excellent surface protection and accentuates the structure of the wood at the same time. Final hand buffing leaves the guitar with an attractive patina that is reminiscent of aged musical instruments.
Furch CNR System® Neck Design
A high precision, dual-action truss rod maintains neck stability and allows for fine adjustment of the neck relief, bilaterally. The truss rod is housed in a highly rigid carbon casing which enables a very smooth and controlled neck relief, ensuring the best playability and enduring optimal setup.
Stylish appointments
The traditional look of the Vintage 1 SM is underscored by faux tortoise pickguard, double ring rosette with black walnut inlay and body binding made from faux ivory.
Excellent machine heads
The Vintage 1 SM has an excellent tuning stability courtesy of Gotoh SE700 Nickel Patina machine heads with a 1:15 gear ratio.
Pearl position markers
The fretboard features white pearl side position markers and fingerboard inlays that improve fingerboard orientation and enhance the guitar’s exclusive appearance.
High-rigidity Hiscox case
Maximum protection during transport is provided by a high-rigidity Hiscox case with polyurethane insulating foam that shields the instrument from changes in external climatic conditions.

Where do I start?
Furch (Or Stonebridge as they were then known) was the brand that made me realise that what you think you know - isn't always as much as you would hope! As a guitar specialist I was proud even back then of my experiences and desire to help focus my customers attention to what I believed were the best guitars to buy. Furch tought me that you can only base your views on the experiences you have had through life - and this is why I now talk about "your truth / my truth". Your truth on the best guitars out there may be different to mine A) because we simply have different taste but more often than not B) We haven't shared the exact same experiences.
Sadly main stream retail pushes mainstream brands. This is due to availability and ease of sale due to the masses of marketing that goes into the brand. As a result all you see is Taylor, Martin, Takamine - you know - you have seen them in every major outlet!!!
So what about Furch? World class. Pretty much sums them up for me!
