G&L Fullerton Deluxe ASAT Classic Butterscotch Blonde over Alder w' Deluxe Gigbag
G&L Fullerton Deluxe ASAT Classic (2025)
This one is very special for me. I’ve been a huge fan and passionate supporter of G&L for over 15 years. For a long time, we were one of the UK’s leading G&L dealers, and I poured my heart into showing people just how incredible these guitars are. Unfortunately, when the brand was handed over to a UK buying group, things took a turn for the worse. Years later, it’s clear that strategy didn’t work out — G&L now has a new distributor, and we’re back working with them again.
It just goes to show: big isn’t always beautiful when it comes to specialist guitars. A brand like G&L needs passion, care, and the right kind of advocacy — not faceless corporate management.
So here it is… the first G&L I’ve had through my hands in years. Honestly, it felt like meeting an old friend again. It was genuinely emotional having this guitar in my hands again. The quality, the feel, the tone & soul — it reminded me immediately of why I fell in love with G&L in the first place and why I spent so many years championing them.
The 2025 Fullerton Deluxe ASAT Classic brings together some of the most time-honoured option combinations from the legendary G&L menu.
The Butterscotch Blonde version features swamp ash with a transparent finish to show off the grain, while the Jet Black, 3-Tone Sunburst, and Matcha Green models use alder for beautifully rounded tones — all with a rear contour for comfort.
Each finish is perfectly matched with a pickguard that sets it off just right, and the natural satin neck finish ties it all together with understated elegance.
Why the ASAT Classic Matters
The G&L ASAT® Classic is Leo Fender’s final word on the traditional single-cutaway bolt-on design. At the bridge, the Leo Fender-designed Magnetic Field Design™ single-coil delivers crisp attack and complex harmonics, with individual brass saddles giving modern intonation refinement.
Switch over to the MFD™ neck pickup and you’ll discover warm, rich cleans, smooth jazz tones, and thick, gritty blues when you dig in. Combine both and you’re in tonal heaven — it’s everything you want from this style of guitar, elevated by Leo’s last and best innovations.

Founded by Leo Fender in 1980, G&L guitars are still built in their historic factory on Fender Avenue in Fullerton, California — the true birthplace of the bolt-on.
For me, this is not just another guitar arriving at the shop. This is the return of a brand I’ve loved, championed, and missed dearly. And seeing them back in my hands — better than ever — is a moment I won’t forget.
