The Cort Gold series is designed with a total focus on sound, but now with the introduction of the Gold-Edge, we are proud to say that the focus and dedication has expanded to push the limits on ergonomics and playability. Cort’s decades of technological advancements and guitar building knowledge sparked the development of the ‘triple bevel cut’ system, and with the right amount of angle and depth for each bevel cuts on three different strategic areas of the guitar body, acoustic guitar playing has never felt more comfortable. Together with selected master grade tonewoods, L.R. Baggs Anthem pickup system, and the top-of-the-line Gold standard build and sound quality, the Gold-Edge is the true golden result of tradition and innovation.
Auditorium Cutaway Body Type
With dimensions of 117mm(4 5/8") body depth, upper bout width at 292mm(11 1/2") and lower bout width at 405mm(16"), the Auditorium body size is perfectly in between the large Dreadnought and the more intimate Grand Concert. This makes the Auditorium body type ideal for both strumming/flatpicking and fingerstyle playing and suits the versatile acoustic player who prefers to have one guitar to cover a variety of sounds and playing styles.
Triple Bevel Cut
The triple bevel cut was designed to give maximum comfort to the players. Carefully calculated bevel cuts have been applied to three strategic areas (armrest, cutaway, and ribrest) of the guitar body making sure that the areas where the guitar touches the player’s body is as ergonomically shaped as possible. The cutaway bevel and body arm rest bevel existed previously on various Cort guitars, but the newly added waist bevel on the back of the guitar greatly assures players the comfort that’s never felt before. The bevels were meticulously laid out to not only provide comfort but to retain the acoustic properties of the body as the traditional cutaway compromises the tone.
Envejecido a Vintage Top
Un instrumento vintage es el santo grial del tono de la guitarra acústica. La madera de la tapa se cura y se abre más con el tiempo. Esto libera una calidad tonal que falta en los instrumentos nuevos... hasta ahora. Mediante un proceso especial que denominamos ATV (Aged To Vintage), tratamos la tapa maciza de pícea sitka para darle ese tono grande y abierto de una acústica de hace décadas y tan codiciada. Solid Flamed Myrtlewood Back & Sides
Como corresponde a una Edición Limitada, el fondo y los aros son de madera maciza de mirto Master Grade para un sonido brillante pero suave y cálido. Claro y potente, enfatiza los medios-altos para una excelente articulación. La textura del Myrtlewood es cada vez mejor con los grados más altos y este modelo presenta el grado más alto posible.
L.R. Baggs® Anthem
The L.R. Baggs® Anthem pickup/preamp system delivers the pure acoustic vibrations of the instrument to the amplifier and PA without any coloration. Unneeded feedback can also be easily and effectively controlled through minimalistic controls that do not interfere with the look of the instrument.

La conexión entre el mástil y el cuerpo de una guitarra es otro factor clave para conseguir un gran sonido. En la Gold, empezamos con una unión de mástil tradicional de cola de milano muy ajustada. Después la reforzamos añadiendo un tornillo. Esta unión de mástil DoubleLock maximiza la transferencia de tono y mejora la resonancia en la Gold.
Mástil reforzado de nogal
El mástil de la Gold se ha reforzado para añadir rigidez y estabilidad mediante dos inserciones especiales. Se ha construido con dos piezas de nogal instaladas para añadir estabilidad al tiempo que se conservan las propiedades naturales de la madera para mejorar aún más la Gold.
Acabado UV mejorado sónicamente
El acabado de alta tecnología es fuerte y resistente a los arañazos a la vez que ligero para mejorar la resonancia acústica natural del cuerpo y conseguir un tono rico y con cuerpo.
