The Eastman Dilemma – A Message From Your Longest Serving UK Specialist

For over a decade, we’ve proudly held the title of the UK’s largest Eastman dealer, and even longer still, we’ve been passionately championing this exceptional brand since the early days — before most people had even heard of them.

We’ve watched Eastman grow from a small, niche brand to a world-renowned name, and we’ve played a big part in helping UK players discover just how special these instruments really are.

What Makes Us Different

From the very beginning, our only priority has been your welfare — before, during, and long after you purchase your guitar.

  • Every Eastman guitar we sell includes our Custom Pro Setup, tailored to your personal preferences.

  • Follow-up checks and adjustments are included in the price, because we know guitars shift over time and you deserve to keep it feeling perfect.

  • We give genuine pre-sale advice based on your playing, not our profit margins.

  • And if something’s not right, we’re here to help — not hide behind a returns policy or avoid your call.

This commitment is what’s built our reputation over the last 30 years — and it’s not something we’ll compromise on.

The Growth of Eastman – And the Challenge It Brings

As Eastman’s popularity has soared, more dealers have entered the scene. Sadly, not all of them share our values.

We’re seeing more and more shops competing purely on price — offering guitars at such low margins that there's no room left for them to consider service, advice, or aftercare.

Let’s be blunt: anyone can send you a box - what we do is truly unique and incredibly hard work - but work I love as my reward is in making my customers happy - not making a quick buck with no long term plan.

The Stock Conundrum

With hundreds of guitars in the Eastman range, keeping every model in stock just isn’t realistic — not if we want to provide the kind of service that defines us.

Here’s a quick example:

  • A guitar costs us £1,000.

  • We make £100 profit on it.

  • If we want to keep 3 of that model in stock (which makes sense based on demand), we’re tying up £3,000 of capital for a potential £300 return.

  • To put this in context - to carry the three guitars in stock would take us THIRTY sales of this ONE item, just to cover the real cost of carrying the stock of one model.

  • You dont have to be a rocket scientist to understand the basic maths behind profit and sustainability - Just like the planet - if you keep taking from it - it can only end one way.

Even if we sell all three every month, it’s still not sustainable — not if we want to keep our team paid, our showroom running, and our service uncompromised.

When Google Sets the Price…

The rise of automated price bidding on Google is making things even harder. Some retailers now allow Google to adjust their selling price in real time — often to shockingly low levels — just to win a sale.

That’s not a sustainable way to run a business, and we’re now seeing the fallout: two major players in our industry, GAK and BAX, recently closed, both having relied heavily on Google Shopping with razor-thin margins.

What This Means for You

Ultimately, it’s about you.

If you’ve read this far, thank you — I know it’s a lot, but I hope it helps you understand the real-world reasons why we can’t carry every single model.

But here’s the good news…

The Right Guitars – Not Just Lots of Guitars

Our focus has ALWAYS been...

Making sure you have access to a showroom of personal recommendations, not just a room full of any guitars.

I have a personal list of recommended Eastman models that I believe in with all my heart. These are the guitars we aim to always have in stock or en route. They’ve earned their place through tone, playability, reliability, and value.

And if you’re after something specific that’s not in stock?

  • Just let us know.

  • We’ll arrange for the guitar (or guitars) to be here just for you.

  • You’ll be welcomed into the showroom with the full red carpet treatment — no pressure, no rush, just time to connect with your next instrument.

The only thing to consider is this: since Brexit, Eastman deliveries can sometimes take 4–6 weeks, depending on quality control, shipping, and customs. But if you’re patient, we’ll make it happen.

It’s a Balance – But One We Embrace

We’ve always shaped the showroom around your needs. That hasn’t changed.

The only thing that’s changed is the delivery times post Brexit and specifically with Eastman gutars where delivery times continue to be 3-5 weeks on average per shipment.

We will move heaven and earth for every Eastman customer inconvenienced by these delays out of our control.

We would rather work with thoughtful, patient players who want to be looked after properly, than chase customers looking for the cheapest, fastest option.

If you’re looking for a box tomorrow — with no setup, no advice, no backup — we’re probably not your shop.

But if you’re looking for:

  • A trusted relationship

  • Real expertise

  • A perfectly prepared instrument

  • And long-term support that doesn’t end at the checkout…

Then you’re in exactly the right place.

Thank You for Being Part of This Journey

Thank you for supporting what we do, and for helping us continue doing it with honesty, passion, and integrity.

We’re not trying to be all things to all people. We’re just being us — and making space for the kind of guitar buying experience that’s becoming harder to find, but more important than ever.

Warmest wishes,

Riccardo
