Teaching is in fact how I began my journey in the guitar industry - as you will see from this photo of my mums scrap book!  She kept a journal of my time in retail from when I opened in 1995 to around 2014 (proud mums eh?) - where I imagine she finally got bored!!

Prior to opening my shop had been travelling to London for a 6 month course at the guitar institute where I met Shaun Baxter & Iain Scott - both of whom inspired me and shaped my musical interest in jazz and blues.

Although I stopped teach many years ago due to my focus on the retail side - I did a few videos during lock down at a time when I felt it wasnt right to be "pushing guitars" on people - it just felt wrong.

I am so glad I did the videos as they reminded me of my enjoyment of helping others (which is why I love what I do now in terms of making people aware of the very best guitars - It just brings me so much pleasure knowing I may have helped someone positively).

I was overwhelmed by the positive feedback I received from people who watched the videos which I genuinely nearly didnt publish because I was so insecure about it.  Ironically the first video I did was by far my most appreciated video I have EVER produced - so that really was a lesson in life I will never forget (An introduction to Blues Guitar 1)
