I love this gorgeous guitar. And Richards Guitars have many great guitars in the showroom. I tried others but couldn’t beat the Gatsby. It was perfectly set up before my arrival to give it a road test. I was given plenty of time to try it and Jon was really helpful in keeping it aside for me.

There are many positives I take away from the process, including:
1. The staff are helpful, positive and knowledgeable
2. It was a great being able to play some of the guitars in the show room.
3. Generally got a swift and helpful response after completing the ordering process.
4. The guitar plays well and looks great.
5. The company employs an effective set up and test process at no extra cost.

BUT

The time from order date to set up took over 32 weeks.

Having bought a Gordon Smith from Richard’s Guitars last year I returned to buy an Auden “Julia” last moth. The guys are great to deal with and, knowing I had said I would try a Stratocaster style GS, John had a couple for me to try. I liked the weight and neck of the one I bought. They are great to deal with and can take feedback and end up finding the particular guitar which is right for you. That’s it, no more guitars (honest)!

All credit to the team at Gordon Smith for their outstanding work and to RG for supporting and promoting an excellent UK builder. I feel like I've got genuine custom shop quality for a half the price. I'll go further, this guitar is the sweetest sounding electric I've ever had. Simply get one.

The guitar is just superb, the feel and tone, as good as any Fender Custom Shop I have owned or played.
The service from Richard and staff was wonderful, helpful, with excellent communication, making the purchase experience smooth, with delivery on time, all round would totally recommend.
