Its Not Always A Happy Ending
One of my favorite adverts was one by Honda which said at Honda they don't use the word "OK" and instead they use the phrase "What If". I LOVED that advert and found it so inspiring. This is the premise of every guitar setup we undertake. If that means rejecting guitars and starting again - that is exactly what we do.
No Time To Watch the Videos? Here Is the Summary...
If you have bought a guitar before you will know all too well that not every guitar feels or plays the same. You may also know that due to the nature of the major component of the guitar (wood) that they can feel great one moment and awful the next (say for example after traveling half way around the globe on a boat - from some factory in the far east to the UK!) Richards Guitars offers a unique service offering the more discerning/knowledgeable buyer a host of "players benefits" which will ensure that ANY guitar purchased will give you years of enjoyment - regardless of the price paid. Due to popular demand, one of the most unique acoustic guitar models that Cort has launched returns with reworked body features for the new Masterpiece Series. Inspired by arts and crafts of the 19th century Art Nouveau era, the Roselyn Redux is a true masterpiece that incorporates both classic and modern aesthetics and guitar building techniques. It all started with a carefully crafted wooden inlay in the center of the guitar with a portrait of a young woman holding a rose, and the name Roselyn was born. Unique features such as an off-set sound hole on top and sound port on side, bevel cut on body arm rest, and elegant looking vine/flower mother-of-pearl inlay that branches out from the center inlay all contribute to the beauty and uniqueness of the Roselyn Redux.
Master Grade Solid European Spruce Top
With bell-like clarity over a broad sonic spectrum, the Master Grade solid European spruce top’s transparent character is ideal for both sensitive fingerstyle playing and relaxed strumming techniques. The richness of ethereal overtones is the defining essence of this premium sought-after wood featured on this model.
“AAA” Grade Solid Pau Ferro Back and Sides
Pau Ferro, also known as Morado, Santos Rosewood or Bolivian Rosewood, boasts many of the qualities that are highly regarded in tonewood that is close to Indian Rosewood. It is stable, abrasion resistant, stiff, attractive, exotic and has good impression strength parallel to the grain. The reddish Padauk wood binding adds premium quality to the style.
Special Rosette Design
The “Roselyn” inlay in the center is crafted in meticulous detail, and with the addition of vine and flower inlays that branch out into the dark ebony, the guitar almost looks like an artwork from the 19th century.
OM Cutaway Body
The OM’s compact size is ideal for players with a small body frame or seeking playing comfort. The bright and stronger high-midrange emphasis is more suited for fingerpicking than strumming which often requires more low-end. The Florentine cutaway on this model allows easy access to the high frets.
Off-set Sound Hole and Side Sound Port
Instead of a conventional sound hole in the center of the body, an off-set sound hole is cut out in a seed shape to go along with the body outline. There is a second sound hole, a Sound Port, on the side which affects the Helmholtz properties of the body and enhances the dynamics and the treble of the acoustic tone. It also allows the player to better monitor the natural sound of the guitar during performance.
L.R. Baggs® Anthem
The L.R. Baggs® Anthem pickup/preamp system delivers the pure acoustic vibrations of the instrument to the amplifier and PA without any coloration. Unneeded feedback can also be easily and effectively controlled through minimalistic controls that do not interfere with the look of the instrument.
5pcs Mahogany & Walnut Neck
The 5-piece neck not only provides strength and stability but a strong and focused sound in conjunction with the body’s acoustic resonance.
Ebony Fingerboard
There are many types of woods that are used for fingerboard but no other compares to the jet-black beauty and slick smoothness of Ebony.
Hand-Rolled Body & Fret Edge Treatment
The sharp edges on the body, fretboard and frets are all hand-rolled to make them round, smooth and ultra- comfortable to touch and play. This process is highly complex and time-consuming and requires the skilled workmanship of experienced craftsmen.
Slim Neck Heel Design
The low-profile slim neck heel design is great for playing on the higher frets that gets less in the way of your playing hand while maintaining a solid tone transfer between neck and body of the guitar.
Gotoh® 510Z Gold Tuner
Featuring an extremely precise 21:1 tuning ratio, these tuners feel solid and ultra-smooth at the same time. The elegant and streamlined knobs also reduce fatigue during the tuning process. You will feel the quality of these tuners the moment you start tuning the guitar.
Graph Tech® TUSQ Nut
Preferred by many guitar makers and players for rich tone and sustain, the TUSQ® is an advanced polymer that's formed under high heat and pressure for uniform density. It's designed to transfer string energy more efficiently, and to make guitars come alive with enhanced harmonics, volume and sustain.
