What is so special about the Godin LGXT?

The Godin LGXT is an electric guitar model produced by Godin Guitars, a Canadian company. Godin Guitars was founded by Robert Godin in the early 1970s. Over the years, the brand has crafted a reputation for constructing high-quality, innovatively designed guitars that push the envelope of traditional design.

The Godin LGXT, first introduced in the 1990s, is a prime example of this innovative spirit. This guitar stands out due to its unique combination of electric and acoustic capabilities, providing an excellent model for versatile musicians who play a wide variety of music genres.

The LGXT has a solid body made of mahogany, a AAA-grade solid spruce top, and a mahogany neck with a Richlite fingerboard. The electric aspect of the guitar comes from two Seymour Duncan custom humbucker pickups and dedicated volume, tone, and 5-way switch controls.

Additionally, the LGXT introduces the concept of a dual voice system. The guitar has an onboard piezo system in the bridge that gives it acoustic-like tones, which are controlled by a dedicated volume and mid, treble, and bass EQ. Further, it is equipped with a 13-pin connector for use with guitar synths and MIDI interfaces, another innovative move enabling a range of synthetic tones.

In short, the Godin LGXT represents Godin's commitment to innovation and quality, combining traditional guitar design with modern technology to create a versatile instrument that has remained popular for decades.
