Hi.
Thank youy so much for your question which is such an important one to be aware of.
Auden, is not only a UK brand name, but is produced in a unique collaboration with Auden China workshop & Auden UK workhop.
Doug, the owner, is responsible for personally selecting the tone woods used on Auden guitars.
These woods are then used to produce the necks and bodies using a combination of hand crafting and technology to craft the shell of the gutar which is then delivered to the UK workshop for final assembly including the nut, saddle, electronics and setup.
This incredible and unique relationship heavily reduces the cost of what are World Class instruments - at a fraction of the price you could ever expect.
This must not be confused with brands like Tanglewood, who are considered a "UK" brand - Faith would be another prominent one, whereby the only UK aspect is the ownership of the brand whilst the production is what is called OEM manufacturing - using workshops that produce many other brands available in the UK.
One of the rare brands that stands out for having total control over research, design, and every aspect of production - as they own their own factory, is LAG, hence why the quality of their instruments and their ability to evolve is so fluid - and the results so extremely high quality - so that is an almost unique operation too. hence why I recommend them in the mid price point.
Auden - Are a wonderful UK brand who deserve every recognition for their desire to create affordable UK made guitars, all be it in part made in their China workshop.
Watch this space as I hope with time this answer will need updating, as plans unfold with Auden in the UK :)
