Faith FNCEBMB (B-stock/Damaged)

For anyone reading this, I will start by making two statements up front. Firstly, I purposely waiting 6 months before writing this review and I wanted to avoid that initial new toy rush and really get a good feel for the instrument. Secondly, I had my heart set on the blood moon venus, but chose the neptune after watching a couple of Richards videos. Believe me, I wanted that Venus and I wanted to buy from Richards guitars. Having researched like hell and watched every YouTube video possibly, I took Richards video advice and tested a venus against the neptune in a local store. The venus looked and sounded amazing, but the neptune had a little more depth. I also tested two Neptune's, the blood moon and the blue moon. Again, the blood moon was my preference.

Order process was easy and I liked they way that setup requirements were gathered. I can honestly say that I felt valued & involved. And the guitar was set up for my specific needs. Period from order to delivery took a little while, but was well worth it.

Guitar looks stunning and plays very nicely. I'm a suckered for a decent wood grain, so always going to mark this high, but it looks superb. Even pushed through an amp, this sounds awesome and I think the first electro accoustic guitar I have owned that doesn't feedback like Jimi Hendrix.

I've been playing this regularly over the last few months and it has helped reignite my playing. I find myself working out guitar parts to play acoustically and here's the thing... I bought a DAW so I could record my parts and add layers. This guitar really helped switch me back on.

Tuning keys are lovely and neck feels great. My only criticism is that I don't trust the built in tuner as I think it is slightly out of pitch. I also found the strap button on the neck a little tight to attach the strap.

I'd definitely recommend a Faith guitar and also Richards Guitars as a retailer.

I own mid priced Sire and Ibanez acoustics and was looking at Auden to match my Gordon Smith electrics,,,but when i saw this at special price , I ordered straight away.
Really lovely look and sound,enjoying the 013 strings fitted for set up tho i normally use 011s (was too busy at work to answer set up questions so my fault) Im guitar tech so no probs if i want to down size strings at a later date .

I'd been looking for one of these for awhile and stumbled across a great video review of the Venus and Neptune models made by Richard here at RGuitars. After getting in touch to ask a few questions it came to light that they had a 2nd hand Faith Blood Moon Venus in stock.

The Team there (Jake and Jon) were extremely helpful is getting some photos over to me and answering a few additional queries I had, especially as it was a 2nd hand guitar. Feeling totally assured, we agreed a great price and their resident studio-tech-wizard Chris got to work on the Pro Setup which was spot on for me once it arrived a few days later (excellent packaged I might add)

The Venus Blood Moon is utterly lovely! Great tone, brilliant, lasting resonance and a genuine pleasure to play picking or strumming.

It's hard to find much of a bad word said about Faith and these models on-line, and I wholeheartedly concur - for the price, it's a real solid choice. I've played various Fender and Martin acoustics for some 20+ years and was wary about this, but it's just excellent on all fronts.

Also, speak to the Team here, you'll get genuinely excellent 1-2-1 Customer Service and do not be afraid of buying 2nd hand gear from these guys at all! They tell it how it is and deliver on all fronts!

Purchased a Faith Naked Venus online, in a recent sale for a great price. Several family members have purchased guitars from Richard’s in the last year, so I vaguely knew what to expect with regard to timeframes, however I wasn’t expecting radio silence and having to chase the store a week after ordering, to find they hadn’t even ordered the guitar in yet (despite the website showing it as in stock when I purchased.) After another week of radio silence, I chased again and miraculously, within 10 minutes of my email, I was sent an automatic update to say my guitar was in the workshop queue.
Some advice for a company that pride themselves on their customer service - just keep your customers informed - I don’t mind waiting for my instrument (of which I took delivery exactly 2 weeks after placing my order) - but it would be good to know that it was / wasn’t in stock / was on order etc. to manage expectations. Also, some website testing is required - the back buttons don’t work, there’s missing / invalid hyperlinks and the search function needs some improvement, making for a frustrating experience.
The guitar I received is a lovely instrument however the colour is completely different to the picture advertised on the website and it wasn’t set up with my requests taken into account, despite having these confirmed by email with staff! (I requested phosphor bronze, custom light strings be put on, and I received it with 80/20 12-53 gauge.)
A good quality instrument, for a fair price, but I don’t feel the ‘service’ lives up to the hype Richard gives it.

The customer service was second to none at Richard’s Guitars. They also managed to set it up and send it out in just a few day, at my request.
It arrived perfectly in tune and beautifully set up, I didn’t have to change a single thing !
Needless to say the Faith Venus Blood Moon is a stunning instrument and I’m extremely pleased with the service from beginning to end.

Brought this guitar from Richard’s Guitars for the simple reason they check and set up each guitar individually.
Wasn’t disappointed the guitar play’s absolutely beautiful. With my old guitar a Washburn I used to get fret buzz etc , although it was ok the feel and looks from the Faith Venus from Richard’s Guitars is fantastic,no comparison it plays sublime.

After doing a lot of research online in trying to find the next upgrade in my guitar journey, I came across Richards Guitars in Stratford upon Avon. I used to live in the UK but now reside in the USA. So this was shipped over to me and came package very well. I was looking for an Electro Acoustic Guitar and was very impressed with the very nice range of quality guitars, at a very reasonable price range. After watching a lot of videos put together by Richard himself, the one I settled on was a Faith Venus naked series in the black stained range. Mine is very unique, as it’s a dark forest green colour which I love. They apply the stain by hand and the spruce wood dependent on how the stain reacts, as no two are the same came out a very nice dark green. It’s a wonder guitar, very easy to play, thanks to the amazing set up from the Luthier before leaving the store. This alone sets the company apart from other businesses when considering a new instrument. I can’t thank them enough and I will definitely be purchasing more from this company in the future. The sound is very rich with great sustain. I would highly recommend this company as a place to go if you want great customer service, where they truly do care about the quality of service and the guitars they sell.

The guitar is excellent and good value. The service from Richards Guitars was efficient and pleasant.
If I was being picky, I would say that the case locks are a poor fit, but this would not have put me off.
I selected this model as it is a 12 fret to body job and therefore has a larger body volume. I wanted this as I tune a tone lower than standard as I prefer this: suits my voice and my hearing range as I am elderly, strings last longer and bends are easier. Also, simulated dropped D tuning works better (when you use a capo to pick up all the strings except the low E) giving the same range as true dropped D in standard tuning.
All in all, a very nice guitar and a great purchasing experience. Thanks.

Had a good two hours plus trying out some great guitars,they were very helpful bringing me out different guitars to try out, I picked the blue moon as soon as I tried it I knew it was the one and it does not disappoint.
Being a senior in my seventies have only been playing for about five years, but I pick up my guitar every day to play love it. I would highly recommend Richards guitars. Rob c.

Richards team spotted a slight fault with one of then tuners during the set up process and we’re very rigorous in speaking with Faith Guitars and sourcing a replacement for me. Guitat arrived beautifully setup and I felt they genuinely cared about the quality of the service.

I decided to buy the Faith Neptune body shape after watching a video of Richard explain\hear the differences in the sounds between the Venus\Neptune.

It was a risk as I hadn’t handled the Neptune so didn’t know how it would suit me. It was superb, it handled\fitted like a glove and is incredibly easy to play. It’s a big upgrade from the guitar I started out with.

The action is perfect for me and feels so smooth up and down the neck and the sound is exactly as I wanted i.e. ‘mellow’, its a joy to play.

The staff at Richards are very friendly and welcoming, it’s clear that their passion is passed on via the guitar which is set-up expertly. I live a few hundred miles away so couldn’t just pop along and visit. I could have gone to the many shops locally but Richard’s assurances that they spend time in the workshop setting up your guitar and only put out the best possible convinced me to give them a try. It was a slight gamble but I’m glad that I purchased from Richards as the guitar has surpassed my expectations. So much so that I’ll be purchasing my second guitar from them very shortly.

This review is about a purchase for a Venus Blue Moon, not the Neptune. The Neptune I ordered at first was unavailable so I agreed to replace it with a Venus instead of waiting some months. Apart from that minor inconvenient (only due to the stock management update, I guess) the experience was perfect. The people I chatted with online for the replacement and order update were available, helpful and kind. More important, the instrument itself: I won't go for a review of it, but focusing on Richards Guitars service. The setup is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. The action is low, no buzz, the guitar sounds and plays like a charm. I live in France, where no Faith retailer is available (at least, haven't found one). It's always a little of a bet to order online from a different country. I decided to trust Richards Guitars mostly because of the YouTube channel. And I see the result. Whereas the Neptune body may have sound a little different, I can definitely feel the difference coming from massive wood and carefully crafted guitar. All the elements that Richard talk about in his videos appear clearly with the instrument in hands. Now, the delay for the delivery. Of course, as the setup goes through a real technician it takes some time, about three weeks for me from command to delivery, but one week was lost because of the first stock problem. So, lets say about twoo weeks from command to delivery. When you know what you have in hands at the end, this is absolutely a deal. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. We bought this guitar as a birthday present for my husband. He absolutely loves it and plays it all the time. The communication I had with Richard Guitars was first class, in particular with Jon. I would highly recommend Richard Guitars to anyone in the market for a quality product and service!

Its a lovely guitar but arrived with me virtually useable, the acoustic sound was dull and not very resonant especially on the wound strings. Plugged in the wound strings were incredibly quiet through the amp. Asked for help fro RG and was requested to send in a video which I did, I had no response. Then tried to phone several times and got no answer. I have fixed the problem myself now guitar sounds great but the wound string now stick badly in the nut when tuning, this I've also fixed.

Everything I expected.

Richard’s team make buying a guitar an absolute pleasure. Without their expert knowledge I’m sure I would have bought a guitar which wouldn’t suit me as well as my Faith - on paper is wasn’t the guitar I would have chosen.
When you’re starting out on your guitar journey having the right instrument as your companion is so important. I feel so comfortable with my Faith I practise every day.
