When it comes to the best dreadnought acoustic guitar under £2000, my personal selection of guitars to try/buy would be the Eastman E20 D TC , Auden Artist Spruce / Rosewood and the Furch Vintage 2 S SR - for reasons I wont bore you with right now - but naturally all available in my collection in store and instruments you will never want to leave behind.

However - I am so excited to tell you about this master class of a dreadnought guitar brought to you by Dowina - my focus so often on their other body shapes and I am SO glad the produced this instrument for me whilst my attention was distracted by other Dowina developments!

In few words as possible the Dowina Moonage dreadnought could be summarised in phrases such as class, sophistication, attention to detail, beauty, simplicity - Dowina!

The Dowina Moonage is new for 2023 - a stunning premium pedigree dreadnought.

If you are looking for "that" rosewood / spruce combination, then this guitar is for you! Its utterly beautiful.

Full of volume - with gutsy bass and ringing highs. The separation between notes is second to none and listen to it resonate! Its a true cannon.

I love the 12 fret marker, which incorporates a symbol from their logo - the result is a delicate, attractive and under stated inlay that has a visual similar to the "old school vintage" models from yester year but doing it the "Dowina" way.

As with all Dowina custom shop guitars, its the attention to detail, including the lovely vignette in the sound hole with the Moonage title beautifully illustrated.

The top is the most INCREDIBLE piece of figured swiss moon spruce. How it catches the light is impossible to fully capture on camera but trust me - its spectacular.

The guitar is presented and protected in their new semi gloss finish which they have been working on in 2022 - now being fully utilised on their deluxe / premium models. They use this finish to maintain a natural look whilst allowing grain patterns to fully "pop" as we all enjoy :)

OK .... so I could have just said.... jaw dropping but its nice when guitars excite you enough you want to spend the time going through what you experience on more personal level.

Sometimes buying a guitar online can be a disappointment ( I've been there on a few occasions) but not this time. The guitar is everything I expected and more . What an absolute stunner!

Eastman's Juliet felt "right" from the moment I picked it up. It arrived perfectly set up from Richards Guitars - and still in tune(!) despite changes of temperature and being bounced around by the courier. It's just about my ideal electric guitar - so comfortable and accurate to play, with beautifully articulate pickups and a very stable Bigsby to add subtle shimmers. It has a totally unique vibe all of its own which I really like, and yet it feels like a guitar that I've played for years and is a trusted go-to instrument.

My dream fulfilled

I wanted this guitar for 18 months before I ordered it. It’s not super-expensive but getting it to Australia really jacks up the cost. It was absolutely worth it though! I’ve already recorded my new single with the guitar. It’s great!

My second guitar from Richards Guitars and I couldn’t be more delighted. I wanted a good quality guitar for everyday gigging. My trusty Yamaha APX500iiEW is a great workhorse but lacked the tone I wanted.
My Auden Chester Neo 45 is too good to be used on the road. The LAG T70 ACE fitted the bill perfectly.
