Furch Vintage 2 OM-SR Orchestra model Acoustic Guitar (2026 CNR Active Upgrade Model)

This is a really beautifully made guitar; the woods look like much higher quality than one might expect on a Vintage 1 series - some bearclaw in the Sitka top, and the Rosewood back and sides have lovely silking - the sides in particular have really nice figuring.

That said, it's the tone that's paramount, and this little guitar is sweet and articulate, and really projects - it is so LOUD, and not just for its size. It plays really comfortably - a testament to the perfect setup by brilliant guitar tech Chris. The service at Richards is exemplary; it doesn't get any better than these guys, who have grown to feel more like trusted friends.

One last note: this guitar came with Furch's new T-line case, which - being a Hiscox fan - I was somewhat apprehensive about. I needn't have worried - the case fits like a glove and is well padded, with good quality latches. I might not trust airline baggage handlers with it as it's definitely lighter and less crush resistant than the Hiscox Pro II, but for pretty much anything other than flying,the T-Line case is more then good enough - and it looks pretty cool, to be honest.

I traveled down from Newcastle in December 2025 to try out a range of OM guitars. Jon was a fantastic host who provided a good selection of guitars for me to try, and was always on hand to help out with with advice or information about the various guitars I was looking at.

I had been a long time follower of the Richards guitars YouTube channel and so was confident I would get a good experience and would have a good selection of guitars to choose from. I was definitely not disappointed.

I had arrived intending to get the Furch Vintage 3 but in the end preferred the Vintage 2. It is a fantastic guitar, comfortably the nicest OM that I've ever played. I would strongly recommend visiting the store to to try out your guitar before purchasing, just because it's such a great experience. Thanks again to everyone at Richard's for helping me to pick this guitar. It's fantastic!

This was my second buying experience from Richards Guitars,love the selection and quality from makers such as Dowina,Furch and Auden.The quality for the price you pay is a lot higher in my opinion.My first choice was a Dowina Acero which still makes me smile every time I play it.This time I chose a Furch OM Vintage 2 which compliments it beautifully.The quality of these two guitars is amazing.The buying experience from beginning was great again, dealing with Jon etc. Played so many amazing guitars but the Furch grabbed me this time.The guitar was set up nicely and I received within a week this time.Thank you again guys... The Furch sound the most dynamic and tonally excellent to my ears at least …torn between vintage models but the mainly visual extra appointments pulled at me…very accommodating at a Richard guitars…pretty much tried everything in spruce and rosewood!

I was looking out for possible replacement for one of my acoustics that had been damaged in a flood. Í´d been in touch with Jake and told him what kind of thing I was looking for. When I arrived for my appointment Jake had picked out five guitars in my price range and suited to my playing style (predominantly chunky finger picking/country blues). I played all the guitars, and a couple of others, but it took me just a few minutes to decide that the Furch Vintage OM 2 was the perfect one for me. I’ve had a number of different acoustic and electric guitars over the years, and this Furch is truly special. A orchestra sized body with vintage look but a full tonal range that is well suited to my needs as a solo performer playing across a range of predominantly American style original songs and classic blues, country and folk rock songs. The guitar looks and feels great to play unplugged but I added an LR Baggs anthem pick up and it’s now ‘ready for the road’. I think this guitar will be with me for a long time. Couldn’t have got this attention to detail from any other guitar shop. Richard’s Guitars ‘appointment only system is perfect if you are serious about buying a new guitar. You get to spend an hour or two checking out the guitars and the staff are there to help out, not get in your way. Excellent service and guitar options.

I had it in my mind to purchase the Furch Vintage 2 OM SR. After liaising with Jake I journeyed from London to Richards Guitars shop to test a variety of instruments.
A number of comparable instruments was provided - this included the Vintage 3 OM SR. It was a standout.
It really is a wonderfully comfortable instrument, which lends to both fingerstyle, hybrid, and strumming. It definately has the base I wanted without overwhelming the mid and high tones - and all tones have clear separation. With a hardshell case, setup, and transportation of the guitar back to London - I'm very happy with the service at Richards Guitars.

I new two things at the start: (a) I wanted either an OM or a Grand Auditorium and (b) I would be buying it from Richards Guitars (have bought several guitars in the past from Richard and each time I had a superb guitar and buying experience). But the choice at this price point is staggering - my shortlist had 8 guitars on it! The team at R Guitars were extremely helpful and patient with me as I veered in one direction then another. Eventually settled on the Furch Vintage 2 OM. Its a phenomenal instrument. Good bass response for a small guitar, piano-like trebles and of course with Furch; an immaculate fit and finish. Couldn't be happier with the guitar or the buying experience.

Thank you to Richard and his team for the timely delivery of my Furch guitar. There are two things different about this guitar when compared to others that I have owned in the past.
The first is the size. The Furch is significantly smaller than others I have owned, I normally have the Dreadnought size. The new smaller size means that it is very comfortable to hold and play. The second thing is that it is not produced by the usual suspects which is refreshing in itself because the choice of materials and the workmanship is right up with the best but at a fraction of the price. You are therefore not paying up to 100% more for a headstock decal!
The quality of the workmanship is first class. Immaculate fretwork and body finish all along with a Hiscox case. Gibson take note! I had to return a Gibson Montana L-00 deluxe recently. The frets had very sharp edges and I actually cut my finger on them. The real problem however was the finish... It was not cured properly and I left fingerprint impressions in the actual finish! Clearly zero quality control. I returned the guitar and bought this Furch which is a much better guitar.
Soundwise it has a punchy midrange with a strong but not over powering bass and shimmering trebles. It is excellent for flat picking but really comes into its own when played finger style. The guitar can also easily handle altered tunings and responds well to Celtic music played in DADGAD and dropped D tuning.
All in all an excellent purchase.

Great looking guitar but the nut width for me is a little on the small size. The guitar plays well though a little subdued, which may improve with time. £2000 and comes with a gig bag is real pisser as far as I am concerned.Would I recommend
this, no I have a Martin 0028VTE which just rocks, and came with a superb case.

I have a number of high end guitars, including Lowden and Collings, but I find myself being followed around by this one. Everywhere I go this guitar is usually within easy reach, is a pleasure to play and is easily as good as the more expensive models and deserves its place as a high end but affordable guitar.
I can highly recommend the service I’ve received from Richard and his staff as nothing was too much trouble concerning the work involved in supplying this model.
Before deciding on this guitar I watched the website videos and was at first sceptical as to the quality of these relatively unknown guitars, in the high end market place, but I was eventually convinced, by Richard, that Furch guitars were quality at a fair price compared with the American overpriced guitar market and he was right.
I hope to purchase the Furch Vintage 3 RS-SR model in the near future.

Incredible quality instrument! Sounds absolutely massive for a 12 fret 00, honestly closer to an OM than a small body. Big, balanced, clear and very harmonically rich. The Furch sound is very broad, clear and what I would describe as quite modern. I find it absolutely perfect for solo fingerstyle.

I’m finding it hard enough to put the thing down let alone find a fault with the sound or build. Very highly recommended! Cheers to Richard for helping me pick it!

The Furch 0034 i purchased from Richard is a fantastic guitar. Its everything i could wish for in a parlour, warm but punchy and sweet at the same time. Fretwork is immaculate as is the rest if the build. I was able to specify a slotted headstock amd most importantly a 48mm nut width ( i have large fingers which get cramped easily).
Richard was really helpful throughout the order process answering all my questions and Teresa kept me up to date with my order whilst i was waiting for my guitar to be built.
I would buy another Furch without question and i'd buy it from Richard everytime.
