Purchased a Furch Yellow OM-SR and I only have positive things to say about Richard’s Guitars. They really have the customer journey nailed.

You can’t underestimate the value of trying before you buy, and this is where they excel. Because the demo room is booked by appointment, I was able to play my way through a plethora of beautiful guitars without any sales pressure or competing with other people noodling away in the background.

Every guitar has its own unique character and voice, and every player has their own specific style of playing. I honestly don’t think there’s anywhere else you can go to try such a wide variety of Furch guitars in one place.

It’s also brilliant that they set the guitar up to your own requirements and won’t send it out until everything has been properly checked over.

In the end, I bought the guitar that chose me. It’s an absolute cracker. I get withdrawal symptoms when I put it down.

This is my second left handed Furch GCR 23 ( now called Yellow) I have bought from Richards Guitars.
The first was back in 2012 but unfortunately it got damaged , not by me by the way and was deemed beyond economic repair. Both Jon and Jake went above and beyond to source a replacement “Yellow” guitar from Furch and Colin made sure it was setup exactly how l wanted it.
Richards guitars are highly recommended and being left handed it was definately worth the wait for it to be made and shipped

My new Furch Yellow Gc CR guitar is beautiful. Everything about style, comfort and playability is first class The dual bevel is a genius innovation, making the guitar a joy to hold. The neck width at 45mm suits my hand size perfectly and allows me to play fingerstyle numbers unhindered - with considerably more freedom than my Taylor. The LR Baggs Element VTC is very powerful and works well when picking; however, the bottom E is over amplified and needs great care when strumming so as to avoid excessive 'slapping'. Perhaps the under saddle recess needs filing down under the bass E? I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to try so many high quality guitars for comparison. Thank you for the genuine welcome and your patience.

I'm not sure who or what to praise more here: a stunning instrument, or the stunning service! Both were/are totally awesome, and I would recommend both this instrument and Richard's Guitars with complete confidence, trust, enthusiasm and gratitude. A huge thank you.

From my initial email enquiry to receiving and playing my Furch Yellow Gc CR I’ve had a brilliant experience.
This is my first new guitar for twenty years and I was a little unsure what to expect, but I was well advised by Jake and Jon prior to visiting the shop, and had a great experience playing the selection available when I visited.
It was great to be asked how I wanted the guitar set up, and the communication from Richards Guitars was first rate.
The build quality of this Performance model is first rate, and the sound and playability are absolutely great.

Having already purchased a Furch Blue GC-CM from Richards a couple of years ago, I wanted a smaller guitar with a cedar top and a different wood for the back and sides. I had no doubt that Furch made fine guitars but the Yellow series is a real step up in class from the Blue, which was already a great standard. For a smaller sized body this guitar has a lot of presence with a beautiful balanced, focussed sound. The cedar gives great warmth while the rosewood provides precision and clarity. I've had a lot of compliments about the sound of this guitar. In answer to queries about where I got it I can do nothing else but recommend the whole buying experience from Richard's Guitars. Jon and Jake are always so helpful and are there to help you make the right decision without being salesy or pushy. I've bought three more guitars from Richard's, but those are for different reviews (all very good).

So I've waited nearly a whole year before writing a review because I wanted to wait until the honeymoon phase was over...but it still isn't. I initially was going to get a spruce top blue series but I had a larger budget to play with just incase I fell in love with something else and a short version of the story is, I really fell in love with the Gc-CR.

The buying experiance was amazing, Beyond outstanding, No pressure sales tactics or any of that b/s just good advice and understanding of what I was looking for, In a lovely showroom full of luthier art & it was well worth the couple of hours drive!

I spent a few hours trying out different guitars, shapes, brands and giving feedback to Jake so he could understand what I was really looking for and the moment he placed that Yellow on the stand it was love at first note. I kept playing a few other guitars around the same budget but that Yellow Cedar top just spoke to me, It's so warm and beauitiful!! Even to this very day everytime I get it out of its case I just have a smile on my face from ear to ear, It has really inspired me to play alot more and just love it even more & In 30 years time I will look at that guitar and say "That was the best 2k I've ever spent".

Again a massive thank you to the whole team at Richards Guitars. Richard for all his hard work over the years and getting this brand known to people because I nearly bought a bloody Taylor before finding Richard on youtube but especially Jake who was looking after me that day and I had a wonderful time.

Bought my GC Deluxe yellow a year ago. I couldn’t be more pleased either with the guitar or the service I have received from Rguitars. The guitar plays and sounds wonderful. The bevels make it so comfortable to hold. The service from Rguitars has been exceptional. From the inital sales experience where you are treated as an individual and allowed the time and space to make a decision with no pressure. However its with the after sales things get really special, a personalised setup followed a year later by another free setup from the stores excellent luthier.

Great guitar keeps it's tuning really well. A joy to play.

I made an appointment to visit on our return from France which needed a little flexibility on arrival time. I was looking for a Furch guitar and had the opportunity to try numerous models around my price range all the guitars were excellent but the service certainly makes a difference eventually deciding on an Orange deluxe with a cedar top.
The whole process was as described my guitar was already made and awaiting shipment to Richard’s to be set up and delivered. Perfect experience and would certainly be buying from them again.

The sheer depth of tone from this smaller bodied guitar is staggering. I admire the precision with which it has been made, and the attention to detail, but the tone is to die for. Lush, warm, yet with a clarity that transcends this wood combination (Cedar/Rosewood).

An excellent guitar, plays beautifully, feels great in your arms, for this being a middle range in Furch guitars, I’m really pleased with the quality of this guitar, and of course Richard’s Guitars were fantastic in looking after me in the purchase. I definitely would buy from them in the future.

Sometimes buying a guitar online can be a disappointment ( I've been there on a few occasions) but not this time. The guitar is everything I expected and more . Even better , my guitar teacher was most impressed. A great sounding guitar. It came with a set of 12's but I changed them to 10's as they suit me better. Nice low action . Sustain was better than my Taylor 324e . All said and done a good purchase and was recommend Richards Guitars! Case was great too!
