This is my first Auden guitar. It's quite the occasion, unboxing it and then removing the dark grey Auden-embossed hard case from the large Auden-branded bag it comes in. Then, opening the case, there's a further layer of soft packing material before the sleek lines of the Auden Artist Smokehouse cutaway are revealed. What struck me first was the impeccable build quality. I had tried an Auden Chester in Richard's showroom as a taster but I bought this unseen, to order. This is a Spruce top with mahogany back and sides, a combo I have in a Gibson J45, which is a big boomy guitar. The Auden is completely different though. It's lighter, sweeter and more refined. The 43mm nut width is comfortable and the on-board electrics are very good. When you add the usual brilliant customer service from Jon and Chris, it was a very enjoyable buying experience.
