Dowina "Tribute To Honduran Mahogany" Custom - 4 Only & So Excited To Show You!
I am SO excited to tell you about my latest VERY special Dowina guitar.
This is what I love about working with Dowina - Every day is an opportunity to explore exciting ideas and bring dreams to life.
About a year ago Erika contacted me - a rare opportunity had arisen to source wood that has long since been banned from harvest - Quite rightly, we now have protection in place of species that are endangered.
These timbers have been stored and drying for the best part of 20 years and only now have come up for sale.
Erika asked me how I felt about this, and I immediately responded...
"These trees were harvested two decades ago and they can't be replanted! You and I have the opportunity to protect the woods from being wasted by producing something that will be used for a lifetime - and beyond as it is passed down through generations"
"Lets use this opportunity to raise awareness of conversation - the importance of sustainability - and to pay tribute to all rare species around the World"
At Richards Guitars I have used my business to make small changes where I can which are documented here...

A Tribute To Honduran Mahogany
So we decided to take this incredibly rare tone wood - and bring you our tribute to Honduran mahogany including a mahogani Liana Vine fretboard inlay that works its way down the board.
A liana is a long-stemmed, woody vine that is rooted in the soil at ground level and uses trees, as well as other means of vertical support, to climb up to the canopy in search of direct sunlight. The word liana does not refer to a taxonomic grouping, but rather a habit of plant growth – much like tree or shrub
Here are some liana vines from the Amazon rainforest...
And here is how Erikas team interpreted it for me - beautiful!
All I need now is someone to love this instrument - to cherish it - and hopefully they have children to pass it down to as well (but thats not compulsory I promise!)
Specification wise..
