Red series Furch guitars are the top tier, premium line, utilising the highest quality tonewoods, greatest level of cosmetic detailing, and highest level of refinement.

Above red series, you would then have the opportunity to have what Furch describe as "rainbow series" which is in effect their custom shop offerings where, within reason, you can select your own cosmetics and wood options.

The L refers to "Alpine Spruce" and Furch will use this code instead of S which refers to Sitka Spruce.

Alpine spruce is often considered the highest quality spruce used on acoustic guitar tops.

The C refers to "Cutaway" so when you see SC it means "Spruce with cutaway", LC means "Alpine spruce with cutaway".

A Furch Yellow and Red series share similar attributes in as much that they are both gloss, both share the same ratio of Grover machine heads- - offering incredible tuning stability and adjustment refinement.

Red series however, are predominantly a cosmetic "next level" with greater emphasis on detailing, purfling, neck bindings, headstock bindings, more elaborate inlay work and so forth.

The red series are considered the premium line from Furch for this reason, but also why Yellow is as popular as it is too - for those who want the superior quality but are happy with the more restrained aesthetic which many (like myself) find equally beautiful.

So better? Beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder, and for some, a Blue Series is enough - but for many, the extraordinary beauty of the reds is the only possible choice :)

Duo Bevel

This is the contouring / bevel that you see to the front lower bout of the guitar which offers comfort when the arm is rested on the top shoulder of the guitars body. Rather than feeling the sharp edge of the guitar, your arm rests much more comfortably on the slope.

The contouring on the rear of the guitar provides a much more comfortable feel so that the back of the guitar doesnt stick in to your ribs - again your body eases inot the guitars body making you and the guitar feel "as one" than sticking into one another!

Furch Red Pure

Utiliising the same quality woods and level of finishing detail but with a more natural approach using wood inlays and satin finishing.

The focus on no gloss or abalone inlay work with total focus on natural wood elements, therefore lends itself to the term "pure".

Prior to your visit, you would chat with us about your requirements which may be a specific guitar, or it may be something you are looking for in a guitar such as tone, volume or needing a specific size. Once we have a good sense of your needs we will confirm with you what you can expect to see on the day. This will normally include the "obvious choice" plus others that we feel could be worthy of trying - and of course, if you wish, we will put other recommendations from our other personally recommended ranges in the mix to ensure you really are on the right track.

When you visit, we will make sure you have complete privacy on the day. Naturally, we are there to help when you want us, and we are mindful your entire visit that you are our priority and are there for you whenever you do need to chat things through.

My philosophy works in the complete opposite direction to normal sales/retail mentality - I detest the word "sales" but naturally your purchase feeds my family, the guys who work with me and is fundamental to what we do - but the "sale" (can we just call it purchase?) comes from your decision when you feel so comfortable that it is an inevitable final stage - its the Eureka moment when you come to the end of your guitar seeking journey - NOT the moment when you are "SOLD" something.

Quick story... maybe over 20 years ago now - a customer said "ok - Sell it to me". I will never forget how uncomfortable I felt and could only answer honestly so I said...

" Please do not take this the wrong way. You've travelled 2 hours to be here. You have spent the past 2 hours enjoying the best of what I have - you can clearly play guitar and get the most out of it - and ive answered every question you have asked of me in the most honest manner. Pleae don't hate me, but if by this point you NEED me to sell you this guitar - its not the right one for you - so, you already know the answer without me saying a word "

In a nutshell, thats my philosophy and thats how you would be treated in our showroom or on the phone should you call us!

Never mix PASSION for sales pitch though as I think its fair to say we are all really passionate about what you will be experiencing or talking about on the phone. Every guitar is a recommendation due to the nature of what I select so please do excuse the passion!!
