Punchy, warm, and full of character — this short-scale bass delivers tone that plays as smooth as it sounds. The GB-Short Scale blends comfort, color, and versatility with a roasted maple neck, punchy humbucker, and Markbass® preamp that lets you dial in everything from smooth funk to gritty rock.
With its bold colors, compact feel, and versatile tone, this short-scale bass adds something fresh and exciting to any player’s lineup.
A 30″ scale length delivers a punchy, warm tone while reducing finger stretch, improving comfort, and providing lower string tension for an easier reach—ideal for smaller hands or players seeking a smoother playing experience.

I have a number of guitars, but this Cort is in a class of its own it plays fantastic and you get a buzz from picking it up. For the price it's got to be the best value Ok the name might put some off but its quality speaks when you play. I like to play a bit of everything and it works with this guitar its a five *****
I’m a beginner and spoke to Rob about which guitar might be suitable for me. Rob was extremely knowledgeable as I was looking at an Eastman but he pointed me in the direction of the Cort-Core OC Maple after discussing my musical influences. I have to say the guitar is fantastic in looks and importantly in tone. I highly recommend Richards Guitars for anyone starting to learn. The pre inspection and set up was invaluable to me as a beginner. I am highly impressed with the service and the guitar!
Hi Steve, thank you so much for your kind words! Im so happy that you're happy!!
Rob will be pleased to know his advice made a difference.
My ONLY problem .... nobody works here called Rob!! :) lol So I think If you spoke over the phone you could have easily mis heard JON. I am only telling you this so if and when you ever need us again, you wont forever be refering to him as Rob :).
THANK YOU SO MUCH for your support -and your lovely review - so very much appreciated.
Awesome service, communication and packaging. Richard delivered everything he promises on his website. The set-up was spot-on too. The Cort C5 Plus is a stunning looking and sounding bass guitar made from quality materials with great sounding, powerful Bartolini pickups.
'But', I don't think I'll be buying a bass with a natural finish again as the wood is quite soft and prone to 'dings'. I handled it as carefully as I could when first playing it, and yet still managed to pick up a couple of small dings. And as the wood underneath is lighter in colour than the wood-stained surface, dings are quite visible when they occur. If I wanted to resell this bass as mint, it's value has now decreased... unless I was to invest in some body repairs. But heyho, we live an learn. But for the rest I am absolutely delighted with my transaction and would recommend Richard's Guitars without hesitation. In fact I already have done.
Excellent, great service. Although there was a delay due to a supplier issue it was not the fault of the store. They kept me fully informed of the situation and gave me an (accurate) estimate of arrival and a choice whether to wait or cancel.
I chose to wait and the store got in touch when the guitar had arrived with them and was in the set-up queue. I was given the option to specify the set-up for the guitar but was happy to go with their regular set up specs.
Once it was ready I was informed and given the chance to alter the delivery date to suit when I would be home.
Richard’s also included a Goody Bag as I had a long wait (due to supplier, not shop) which was an extra touch of class.
The Guitar was really well packaged and very nicely set up and easy to play.
Set up is so important to making your guitar playable and it’s definitely worth waiting a few days more to have it included. Price was very fair and competitive especially considering what is included.
100% Recommended
Recieved all shiny ,new and set up with .11 gauge. Gigged last thurs nite and great sound and big frets ideal for fast legato runs tho relatively chunky neck (no wizard) but still comfortable to play. Looks great and build quality and hardware are all good.
Carry on the good work 😎
I started my second guitar purchase on 17 years a few months ago, tried out all the Taylor’s, Martins in my local shop and just could not justify £3k plus for the spec I wanted. I spoke to Richards guitars and settled on this one - thanks Jon for all the help!
I LOVE my Cort it’s truly beautiful and fits most styles. Would recommend this as a mod-range guitar under £2k!
You never disappoint. Thanks to Jon, Jake and Chris for the advise, bespoke setup and supply of my newest arrival, the Cort M600TBB. It might be cheap, but the quality and playability is great. It punches way above its weight and the free set up to my exact specification makes it feel like an old friend, equal to my 2004 PRS. I love it.
This is my first accoustic guitar, after 3 years of playing classical spanish, and its taking a while to get used to playing in a different position. The sound from this guitar is wonderful the feel is different as it is bigger. I am really enjoying playing ans learning a new guitar. If you are thinking of buying a second guitar I would recommend this one.
I’m a seasoned drummer who has messed about on acoustic guitar for many years, partially because it’s easier to cart about than a drum kit but I also hate tapping away on a practice mat. I thought I might add an electric to my toys and approached Richard’s team to get some advice. They talked me through the options and let me loose with various models and makes including the Cort M600. It played buitifully even though it was straight out of the factory. Richard’s team checked it over and set it up fully and once Santa had done his thing I got to play it again. I couldn’t be more pleased, it looks great, feels great and sounds great with enough variation in tone to keep me busy. It may have taken me a while before I bought one but I can’t imagine wanting to change it. Thanks guys. Hmmm, but … just how many guitars does a drummer need?
Fantastic support from the staff and a beautiful guitar, would highly recommend
Great personal service as always. The guitar arrived ahead of schedule, beautifully set up and plays nicely.
Excellent, great set up, stays in tune and plays well
Incredible guitar and service
The specs alone are a winner
Very please with my new guitar. Well set up and plays great.
The guitar was set up beautifully. Communication throughout was clear & pleasing. I’d recommend Richard’s guitars to anyone who plays & wants a great service. Thanks Jon Binns in particular..
Great looking guitar, set up included from Richards, which makes the price a bargain.
Absolute beginner, so difficult to comment more about the instrument. Service from Richards was excellent.
An excellent guitar. I was especially impressed with the action that was setup at Richard's Guitars. I bought this guitar to help me as a writer. The action has to be just right to allow the writing to flow with ease and of course it was on this guitar. Top Marks.
Awesome flawless build quality guitar. Lovely silky 3 piece maple neck, just glides along. Torrified top gives a nice vintage tone considering all maple. Every part has exemplary workmanship. Includes LR BAGS soundhole pickup system, magnificent!.
Can't recommend Richards store and service highly enough. Jaw dropping stocks of mostly handbuilt guitars . Will never buy an overpriced main brand guitar ever again!! Highly recommend a visit to Stratford upon Avon shop.
Richards Guitars provided me with the best guitar buying experience I've had, from when I was contacted by Jon Binns, who provided me with EXCELLENT service from start to finish - the whole process took (me - not Richards!) about 2 1/2 months or so, due to the death of a friend and me jugglin finances, me being a "pensioner' as you Brits so succinctly put it, yet at no time did I sense any pressure from Jon to close the deal before I was ready to....as a retired ex-medical device salesman, sometimes I was FAR less patient than Jon was with me when it was the end of the quarter (or year) and management was breathing down my neck. He was just outstanding, and when I mentioned that the guitars (2 Cort Les Pauls) were hung up in customs at Castle Donington, they were cleared by the end of that week. I don't know for sure whether he had anything to do with that, but I don't think it's a coincidence. Compare that with the seller I bought a Vintage (Brand) Black Beauty Les Paul with P90s from on Reverb who told me that since it was made in Vietnam, it wasn't subject to Tariffs....not. I would up paying over $700 instead of less than $600 because I was dumb enough to believe him. I will not make that mistake again.
The guitars are beautiful, just STUNNING - and METICULOUSLY set up by Richards. There are just a few independent dealers that I know of in the US that go to that length, and, to top it off, I've only seen these guitars offered by a couple of sellers in the US, and when you add in the fantastic job they do setting up their guitars, it's a BARGAIN, inmho.
All in all, it was one of the best sales experiences I've had overall in the past few years, guitars or not. In my opinion, it is the PERSONAL TOUCH that makes the difference. You just do not find that anymore, and when you are lucky enough to run across it, you REALLY notice it, because frankly, it is something you cannot buy. But with Richards Guitars, it's included with every sale.
And you can take that to the bank....
It is a beautifully made guitar with great tone.
Wonderful Instrument - delighted with my new guitar - first class product and customer service second to none. Thank You!
Amazing customer interaction, from the workforce to the the owner, nothing is to much trouble
The experience visiting Richards Guitars was a guitarist dreams, highly recommend and well worth the travel
My LAG ESCAPADE is absolutely stunning, set up is amazing and played straight out of the box, even though the set up was perfect for my playing, a full set up was still offered by Richards Guitars
I can’t thank the team enough
