Fantastic guitar

Love this guitar. Wanted to find something with a tone as warm as my Taylor mahogany but less bulky and heavy. Took a while but Jake found one of the Furch Om yellow models upstairs and it stood out. It's comfortable to play being smaller but there is no compromise in sound. Beautiful warm tone with bell like trebles and great sustain.
Richards guitars really do offer a top class service and have a fabulous range of unique guitars!

Happy customer

Great experience with Richard’s Guitars. I contacted them before visiting, giving the parameters of what I was looking for, turned up the next day and Jake had picked out a selection of guitars for me to try, one of which was a tempter and another of which was the winner. Great service, excellent instruments and an all round enjoyable experience. Thanks

WOW... compared against my Martin

On order since March 2022 and arrived Christmas week. An OUTSTANDING guitar. Totally blown away by its sound, construction and playability. OK, so here’s a little background. I’ve been playing steel string guitar since 2010 (after playing flamenco since 86.)
I’ve got several guitars including a Martin 00028/ec (Clapton signature) and a couple of excellent Eastmans. My Martin is sitka spruce top with rosewood back and sides, one of my Eastman guitars is the E10-OM-SB Adirondack spruce and mahogany B&S. I wanted that as a mahogany compliment to the rosewood Martin (I actually went to buy the Martin 00018 but thought the Eastman was better so got that saving a grand!)
Anyway, back to the Furch. I wanted this model for its cedar top and rosewood combination, thought it would offer excellent tonal differences to the above. I could not be more happy with a guitar. It is EASILY equal to the Martin and in some ways better. For example, the neck feels nicer to play and the machine heads are the best I’ve ever used and are way better than the Martin’s. The cedar top is simply wow! Rich and warm like a 30 years old guitar that’s been well played but still having that crisp bell like clarity and punch of a new guitar.
Build quality is exceptional and its understated adornments just ooze class. Gotta say, those fingerboard inlays Richard has are gorgeous.
OK. If I had to pick just one of my guitars to keep and play I would choose the Furch. This yellow series cost £1,799 (full price) the Martin £3,000 (discounted) nuff said! I love my Martin, it’s an amazing guitar but it’s no better than the Furch…Just different…and a lot more expensive. The Martin would probably be a better financial investment (at the moment) but I said “to play” so…
As for Richard’s guitars; service was impeccable and a joy. They were SO apologetic about how long it took to receive the guitar but hey, Covid in the Czech republic REALLY sucks! I was also told it would arrive after Christmas and it arrived before EXCELLENT! My only disappointment was that the guitar box it arrived in didn’t have a large sticker on it saying “THIS IS NOT A GUITAR!” But my wife’s reaction was still priceless ha ha. We’re friends again now.

Beautiful New Companion

This is a fantastic guitar and after a few weeks of playing I am in complete agreement with what Richard said when I first checked with him - a perfect retirement companion! I suffer from a pinched nerve in my neck that troubles my strumming/picking hand. The OM shape seems just right. One thing I have noticed is that the quality of sound at any position along the fretboard is so good and true that I have discovered my singing is now that much easier and better. I played cheaper guitars before and always had trouble matching voice and guitar. Its almost as if the guitar is guiding my voice. That in itself has made this investment more than worthwhile.

Service. Absolutely top class. Due to covid everything was done via email. I didn't even have to call. But from Richard's first e-mail response I sensed a trust feeding through (might be something to do with his eastern spiritual practices!). Jon & Teresa were very helpful as well responding to my requests. I wanted specific photos, etc. I believe the pictures above are of my beautiful new companion. Never believed than an on-line buying experience could be so pleasant. I felt I had known the beautiful folks at RG for a long long time.

Lovely guitar

I'm very pleased with my new Furch Yellow OM CR. The finish is superb, the tone all I could wish for and the action excellent.
I'm also glad that I watched a number of Richard's YouTube videos before going for this guitar, particularly the comparisons of the tonal impact of the woods used in acoustic guitars and comments about the benefits of a (wider) 45mm nut; having fingers that have expanded over the years due to arthritis, I noticed immediately that I wasn't having to contort my fingers to get a crisp sound, and that means that my playing is flowing more easily again.
