Fabulous service

I was lucky enough to be able to visit Richard’s Guitars. I got to meet both Jon and Jake and they are both great at what they do (finding you the right guitar). I was given all the time I needed to try out guitars and there really was no pressure to buy. I decided on the V72FTB and I don’t regret it , it’s really nicely finished for the price and the setup was done nicely.

My first Vintage!

I have an electro acoustic Eastman E3DE and wanted to add a fully electric T style guitar to give me access to a more jazz/blues style of music.
Speaking to Jon, he recommended the Vintage V72.
It has the T styling that I was looking for as well as a Thinline vibe provided by the F hole. As a result I can couch noodle and hear what I’m playing without plugging into an amp - which I find really helpful.
The guitar is amazing!
Looks great and plays really well.
Value for money is staggering- I really have no idea how they provide such a high quality of instrument for the relatively modest cost.
I had the Vintage Custom Pro set up done so apart front some tuning it was set up and ready to play straight from the box.
I have nothing but praise and thanks to Jon, Jake and Richard and team for their advice and professionalism and for matching me with a guitar that fits the brief in every way.
Until next time!
Thank you
Nick

Vintage V72FTB review

Lovely guitar and well set up. It is comparable to much more expensive telecasters I have in my collection. Paying for the set up just gave me the peace of mind that the guitar would be the best it could be on arrival and saved me time having to polish frets, oil fretboard etc which is often the case with guitars which generally all come straight from a storage point. Would definitely recommend Richards Guitars.

Just as good as it looks!

It took a while to get here but was well worth the wait. Really pleased with the Vintage. Beautiful tones and lovely to play. Thanks to all the team at R's!

Great value

I have been looking at Richard Guitars website and many videos on YouTube. I love their passion for guitars at the right price. I used to own a American Telecaster and the Vintage is incredible value at a quarter of the price. Set up lovely too. I’m definitely buying more guitars from Richards :+1::skin-tone-2::+1::skin-tone-2::+1::skin-tone-2:

Highly recommended!

The value for money of this guitar with the adjustments they make in the workshop is simply UNBEATABLE. I followed the advice of Richards, who recommended this guitar to me based on my budget and the style of music that I like and I couldn't be happier. They are a fantastic team and they already have a client for life. Thanks from my heart !

Reluctance

Had the guitar a month or so, held off doing the review thing because it's not good. Don't get me wrong, I love the guitar but this so called well advertised £100 setup malarkey did not happen to me and I certainly did NOT receive any supposed Certificate of setup....damn shame because I could have bought the same guitar from another supplier £40 cheaper without setup.
Ok, it was serious Covid time and I get the idea of a shortened staff base and no opening times. Literally while perusing the site I was aware of guitars being sold via screen notifications and realised business was good via mail order. I've watched all the youtube vids and the service sounded great. I'm quite experienced at my age having setup guitars for friends but at 66 years old wanted a pro.setup as advertised. It's a damn shame, fret ends were sharp and the nut was a razor almost literally! However, certainly not insurmountable and filed it all down, reduced the action a tad on the e,b,g strings to suit even though the action supplied was certainly passable anyway. Just a preference thing. The bridge plate does not match up with the string thru holes drilled ever so slightly but not enough to warrant making a big thing about. Intonation not great on g,d strings, fixed that.(much as I could with the tele 3 saddle bridge even though "compensated" already...
Don't get me wrong, love the guitar, still do and just like to believe that because of business it slipped thru the net.

Hi!

We are SO sorry to hear of this? Please let me put your mind at rest if I may?

Every single guitar we sell is meticulously prepared pre sale. The nut issue that you mentioned it one of our focuses which you have probably even seen in videos that Richard has published.

Vintage guitars require an enormous amount of time and energy - which we give to every one.

We do describe the Vintage brand as a rough diamond and we get the very best out of them.

It is possible that during the lock down period due to the overwelming demand and our incredibly limited resources that the guitar technician somehow loverlooked the softening of the nut edges . Really sorry if that were the case.

Needless to say if there is anythingwe can do to help - or make up to you in any way we are always here for you.

One thing you must never EVER think however is that we dont care - we care passionately - and will alway be here for you if you need us.

Do remember we also offer a 6 and 12 month check and reset all included in the price of the guitar so dont hesitate to take advantage of that post lock down!

Very happy

The guitar really doesn't look, feel or sound like a budget instrument. It's well put together & was well set up with my preferred heavier string guage and played great out of the box - really appreciate this customer service. These aren't custom shop hand-built masterpieces, but the bare bones of the guitar are put together well, the top veneer and finish look way more expensive than they are & hardware is 'budget' but great quality Wilkinson kit. For the money I think you'd struggle to find better.
